More payment options at checkout
Phaetus Dragonfly BMO is an all-metal, V6-interface hotend for 1.75 mm filament. It uses a copper-alloy thermal core, a conical bi-metal heatbreak, and a plated copper V6-style nozzle to make high-temperature materials practical without giving up clean filament control.
Why this over a basic V6 hotend
- Higher-temperature material range: the Dragonfly BMO is specified for operation up to 500°C when paired with the correct heater cartridge and sensor.
- Better heat control: the conical heatbreak/heatsink interface improves thermal isolation and helps reduce heat creep compared with conventional hotends.
- V6-style fit: BMO is the V6-interface Dragonfly model, intended for printers and toolheads built around a V6 hotend mount.
- Filament path quality: the internal bore is specified at ≤ Ra0.3 roughness for steadier filament flow.

Fitment and use
Use the Dragonfly BMO where you need a V6-style all-metal hotend for Prusa MK3/MK3S-style setups, Titan/BMG-style extruder mounts, or Voron-style toolheads that are designed around a V6 interface. Pair it with a suitable heater cartridge, temperature sensor, and V6 nozzle for your material.
For spares and tuning, see our Phaetus Dragonfly Sock, Phaetus copper-plated V6 nozzles, Phaetus hardened steel V6 nozzles, 24V 40W heater cartridge, and Runice high-temperature thermistor cartridge.
Material guide
- Good fit for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, Nylon, PC, PEI, PEEK, and other high-temperature thermoplastics when the rest of the toolhead is built for those temperatures.
- For carbon-fiber, glass-fiber, glow, metal-fill, wood-fill, and other abrasive filaments, use a hardened or otherwise abrasion-resistant V6 nozzle instead of a standard plated copper nozzle.
Not a Creality-style BMS
This is the BMO version for V6-style mounting. If your printer expects the Creality-style Dragonfly BMS heatsink geometry, this is not the drop-in version.
