Phaetus PS (V6) hardened steel nozzle for 1.75 mm filament. A drop-in M6/V6-style wear-resistant nozzle for abrasive composites like carbon-fiber, glass-fiber, wood-fill, glow, and other filled materials.
Why use hardened steel here?
- Hardened tool steel resists bore wear from abrasive filaments that quickly enlarge a brass nozzle.
- 450℃ maximum printing temperature covers common engineering and composite filament use cases.
- ≤Ra0.4 μm inner-hole roughness and ≤0.02 mm concentricity help keep extrusion consistent.

Fitment and use
Use this on hotends that take standard V6-style M6 nozzles, including Phaetus Dragon/Dragonfly-style V6 setups and other compatible E3D V6 ecosystem heater blocks. It is the practical upgrade when printing abrasive materials like PET-CF, PA-CF, ABS-GF, ASA-GF, wood-fill, glow, or metal-filled filament.
Choosing the size
- 0.4 mm: general-purpose replacement when you need abrasion resistance without changing your normal profile much.
- 0.5–0.6 mm: better flow and stronger parts for filled engineering materials.
- 0.8–1.0 mm: faster, heavier extrusion for large functional parts and abrasive filaments that dislike tiny bores.
Related options
For non-abrasive everyday filament, use the Phaetus Brass V6 Style 1.75 mm Nozzle. For higher thermal conductivity, step to the Phaetus Copper Plated V6 Style 1.75 mm Nozzle. For a longer-life coated wear nozzle, compare the Phaetus DLC Hardened Steel V6 Style 1.75 mm Nozzle.
Gotchas
- Hardened steel conducts heat less efficiently than brass, so abrasive-material profiles may need a small temperature or flow tune.
- This is not a Volcano/PH-length nozzle and is not for Revo hotends.
- Match the orifice size to your slicer profile before printing.
