ERCF v2 / v3 D-Cut Gear Shaft — by gate count

The gear drive shaft for an ERCF v2 or v3, cut to the BOM length for your gate count. One shaft runs the whole gate row; pick the variant that matches your build and skip the hacksaw.

Which variant

Lengths are the official BOM formula (72mm + 23mm per gate). The v3 BOM keeps the v2 gate pitch, so the same shaft serves both versions; upgrading v2 to v3, your shaft carries over and it is the extrusion (now tapped) and the gear motor that change. The BOM is written for any gate count; vendors default to 4, 8 and 12, so we cut 6 and 9 as well.

Specifications

• Diameter: 5mm, −0.02 / −0.03 (supplier drawing in the photos).
• Flat: 4.3mm across the flat (0.7mm deep), full length.
• Material: stainless steel, bright finish, not hardened.

Not included

• 8mm smooth rods and the 2020 extrusion. The 2020 Extrusion listing carries all five ERCF lengths.
• Gears, bearings, motors, printed parts. The V2.x Community Edition kit is the full hardware set.

Gotchas

• v1.1 builds use a different length table (159 / 201 / 269 / 337 for 4 / 6 / 9 / 12 carts). Those are on the v1.1 shaft listing.
