Phaetus aeWorthy PETG-CF is PETG reinforced with chopped carbon fiber on a 1.75mm, 1kg spool (Black). It's the stiffness-and-finish upgrade over plain PETG: more rigid, more dimensionally stable, lower warp, with a matte black surface that hides layer lines. Good for functional parts that don't need the heat resistance of a nylon — jigs and fixtures, brackets, enclosures, drone/RC frames, and cosmetic functional prints.

Print settings

  • Nozzle: 235-260°C
  • Bed: 70-80°C
  • Speed: 30-60 mm/s
  • Enclosure: not required (PETG-class), but helps with consistency on larger parts

Hardware: you need a hardened nozzle

Carbon fiber is abrasive. It will wear out a standard brass nozzle quickly. Run a hardened steel, DLC-coated, tungsten carbide, or ruby nozzle — Phaetus recommends these for their Dragon, Dragonfly, and Rapido hotends. If you don't already have one, add a hardened or DLC nozzle to your order before printing this.

Drying

PETG-CF is hygroscopic and carbon-fiber blends pull in moisture fast. Dry before use if the spool has been open or sitting — wet filament gives you stringing, popping, and a rough surface. A filament dryer or a low oven (follow your dryer's PETG profile) restores it. Store sealed with desiccant.

Notes

1.75mm diameter, 1kg net weight. Exact carbon-fiber percentage and density are not published on Phaetus's data sheet; comparable PETG-CF filaments run roughly 10-15% chopped CF. This is an engineering filament — moisture-sensitive, so buy what you'll use.
