CW2 ECAS04 input mod hardware kit for ERCF-style filament paths. This kit supplies the purchased hardware for the Clockwork 2 usermod that adds a press-fit ECAS04 fitting to the CW2 filament input, with the optional mechanical filament sensor hardware included.
Why this mod exists
- Adds an ECAS04 embedded collet to the Clockwork 2 filament input so the PTFE tube is retained during ERCF loading and unloading.
- Supports the optional ball-bearing microswitch sensor documented in the CW2 ECAS usermod.
- Uses a mechanical sensor design: a 7 mm ball bearing is pushed by filament and actuates a microswitch.
Kit contents
- 1× Omron D2F-series microswitch
- 2× M2×10 self-tapping screws
- 1× 7 mm ball bearing
- 1× ECAS04 embedded collet with clip
- ~18 in / 1.5 ft of 30 AWG FEP wire
Fitment and source project
- For the Clockwork 2 (CW2) extruder usermod: CW2 with ECAS fitting, with or without ball bearing filament sensor.
- Based on the Voron Stealthburner / CW2 design state documented by the mod author from August 18, 2022.
- Useful for ERCF builds where the toolhead input tube needs better retention than a bare filament path.
Important gotchas
- This is the hardware kit only; printed CW2 mod parts are not included.
- The source mod says these parts are not compatible with pre-RC1 Clockwork 2.
- The source mod shortens the lower filament path by 3 mm; follow the project instructions before cutting PTFE.
- The sensor is mechanical, not the standard ERCF Hall-effect toolhead switch design.
