Engineering sheets are based on an original design by Lightweight Labware and were developed in collaboration with Armchair Heavy Industries and RaccoonWorks.

Proper Use

Engineering Sheets are best suited for printing with materials such as ABS, ASA, PETG, PA, PC, and TPU. The Sheets feature a special coating that enhances adhesion, particularly when working with high-temperature or flexible filaments.

To achieve optimal results, it's important to adhere to the provided usage instructions.

Apply an Adhesive: Applying an adhesive, like Frank's Goo, is advised to form a release layer between the print and the sheet. This not only boosts adhesion but also facilitates easier removal of prints.

Wait for Prints to Cool: Given that the Engineering Sheet is often used with high-temperature materials, it's wise to allow roughly 10 minutes for cooling before attempting to remove the sheet. Exercise caution if removing the sheet immediately after printing, as it will be hot and could cause burns. Gradually cooling the print helps prevent model warping. After both the model and sheet have cooled, you can gently flex the sheet from the edges to detach the model, preparing it swiftly for subsequent prints.

Employ a Sharp Scraper for Flexible Materials: Like with most PEI sheets, it is not recommended to print directly on the sheet without a release agent when using flexibles (such as franks goo)
Although many prints can be detached without tools, using a sharp scraper is recommended for prints made from TPU or similar flexible materials. This method ensures the model can be gently lifted from the print surface without damage.

Cleaning: IPA is acceptable, for a quick cleaning. For optimal results, Engineering Sheets should be washed with soap and water, between every use.

SOLID

Works great for PLA, PETG, and TPU. Bottom surface finish is a little textured but not as much as some of the textured PEI plates.

Holds firm and releases after cooling completely (TPU sticks a little more, but peels off just fine).

Nice and thick so it doesn't warp.

I hated it until I followed the instructions

I typically use a bare generic gold PEI sheet to print ABS on. No adhesives, no nothing. Just wipe with IPA once in a while. This works remarkably well, but when the special popped up in my email for this sheet, I took the plunge. The first couple of times I tried printing on it, ABS just wouldn't stick well. I wrote it off and went back to my gold PEI sheet. Well, I was at Microcenter and bought some Magigoo to use on another printer for PLA and PETG printing and figured WTH, might as well try some on this engineering sheet. Opinion changed immediately. Then I remembered reading in the description to use an adhesive and it clicked. Anyway, if the instructions are followed, this thing is awesome. Can't reccomend enough.

LOL I never read instructions BUT, these are there for a reason. Sorry you had trouble. Loving that you got it printing. They *are* awesome. Thanks for the review.

New Main Sheet

This has quickly become my new main sheet I run on my Trident. $40 for a satin like sheet is an incredible value. Finish is slightly shiner than a Prusa Satin but this stuff is durable and I can use it with filaments like PET, PETG, and TPU with no issues.
Also works fantastic with ABS and ASA with some bed adhesive (I always use it anyway) so you don't "need" to get a PEI sheet for those if you don't want to.

Thank you so much for the kind review. We love the engineering sheets, and are glad you do too.
Thanks,
Derpimus.
