Laser-cut kinematic bed mounts for Voron Trident. This Lightweight Labware / Whoppingpochard kit replaces rigid Trident bed mounting with a Maxwell-style three-point kinematic support so the aluminum bed can expand as it heats instead of being over-constrained.
Why use a kinematic bed mount?
- Reduces heat-induced bed stress: the design is intended to limit the “taco effect” caused by constraining an aluminum build plate at fixed mounting points.
- Purpose-built for Voron Trident: this is the Trident version of Lightweight Labware’s kinematic bed mount system, not the V2.4 kit.
- Hardware-ready upgrade: vendor listings describe the kit as including the fasteners needed for installation.
Specifications
- Designer / manufacturer: Lightweight Labware, also known as Whoppingpochard
- Fitment: Voron Trident aluminum bed mounting system
- Construction: laser-cut black anodized aluminum mount plates with blued spring-steel kinematic leaves
- Manufacturer part number: LWL-KIN-TRI-ALU
- Reference documentation: Lightweight Labware kinematic bed mount GitHub
Fitment notes
Use this on a Voron Trident build where you want the bed to locate repeatably while still allowing thermal expansion. Pair it with a flat aluminum bed such as the Black Anodized Ultra-Flat Aluminum Bed or Ultra-Flat Aluminum Bed by Lightweight Labware, and add the correct Universal Silicone Heating Pad for your bed size.
What it is not
- Not the Voron V2.4 kinematic bed mount kit.
- Not a replacement for bed leveling, probing, or a flat build plate.
- Spring-steel leaves can show surface oxidation over time; vendor guidance is to lightly oil them periodically in humid environments.
