Aluminum 3 mm captive pin kit for the Salad Fork pin mod. This kit replaces the threaded M3 idler screw axles with smooth, lightweight aluminum pins for the older Salad Fork pin-mod layout.
Why use pins instead of screws?
- Smoother idler axle surface: the official Salad Fork captive-pins mod notes that screws are slightly undersized and rough because of their threads, while 3 mm pins are smooth and closer to true diameter.
- Lower moving mass: aluminum pins cut weight compared with steel pin or screw hardware in the gantry/idler stack.
- Cleaner captured assembly: captive pins are intended to stay retained in the printed pin-mod parts instead of walking out.

Fitment
For Salad Fork / Printers for Ants builds using the older Salad Fork pin-mod hardware set. Pair it with the Salad Fork Motion Kit or Salad Fork Fasteners Kit when refreshing the gantry hardware.
Check before you build
- Not a full motion kit: bearings, printed pin-mod parts, belts, pulleys, and fasteners are not included.
- Salad Fork v1.1 note: the current official captive-pins BOM calls for 6 × 18 mm, 2 × 22 mm, and 2 × 14 mm pins. This older-style kit does not include 14 mm pins; cut two 18 mm pins down or source 14 mm pins separately if your printed parts require the v1.1 lengths.
