Side Swipe is a bolt-on magnetic bed probe hardware kit for Voron V0 and V0.1 printers using the MiniAfterburner direct-drive toolhead. It bundles the fasteners, servo, magnets, switch, and wiring called for by the open-source Side Swipe v1.5 project.

Why use Side Swipe on a V0?

  • Designed as a compact automatic probing mod for the tight Voron V0/V0.1 envelope.
  • Magnetic probe block couples to the mount during probing, then parks out of the way.
  • Uses common Voron-style hardware so the printed mechanism stays serviceable.

  • 2× M3x8 SHCS, 2× M3x10 SHCS, 2× M3x40 SHCS, and 2× M3 nuts
  • 1× MG90S/MG90D-size servo
  • 5× 6x3 mm neodymium magnets
  • 1× Omron microswitch
  • 1× 300 mm servo extension cable
  • 1× 450 mm two-conductor wire

Fitment

The upstream Side Swipe project lists support for Voron V0/V0.1 with MiniAfterburner. For larger Voron builds, compare alternatives like the Klicky Probe Kit or Quickdraw Probe for Voron Switchwire.

Build notes

  • Print the Side Swipe parts from the official project files, preferably in ABS as specified by the project.
  • Magnet orientation matters: the probe block top magnets must match each other, and the mount magnets must be oriented so the block attaches correctly.
  • The probe switch is wired normally closed; test continuity during assembly before final installation.
  • If you want a spare switch, see the Omron D2F-5L Microswitch.

What this is not

  • Not a complete printed plastic assembly; printed Side Swipe parts are not listed in this hardware kit.
  • Not a universal Voron probe. Official support is V0/V0.1 MiniAfterburner; other toolheads or V0.2-style builds need a compatible adaptation.
