Disco Stick is an 18-LED addressable RGB light bar for adding controllable color lighting inside a Voron or other enclosed 3D printer. It is the big-stick size from Bartlammers’ open-source Daylight/Disco stick family: a 5V RGB PCB using 5050 addressable LEDs such as WS2812B/SK6812, with a Klipper chain_length of 18.
Why use this over a plain white light bar?
- Addressable RGB control: wire it to a controller RGB/NeoPixel output and drive status colors, print-state lighting, or effects from Klipper.
- Printer-friendly format: the stick form factor is meant to mount along printer extrusion using the open-source Daylight/Disco bracket ecosystem.
- Two PCB color options: choose Black or Red to match the build.
Specifications
- Type: addressable RGB LED stick PCB
- LED count: 18
- Input: 5V RGB/NeoPixel-style data control
- LED family: 4-pin 5050 addressable RGB LEDs such as WS2812B / SK6812
- Klipper configuration: set NeoPixel
chain_lengthto 18 - PCB color variants: Black, Red
Fitment and setup notes
- Designed for the Daylight/Disco on a Stick mounting ecosystem used on Voron-style 2020 and 1515 extrusion frames.
- Use the official Daylight/Disco STL brackets from the Voron Hardware project for mounting.
- For a white-light alternative, see Daylight on a Stick; for UV/accent lighting, see Nightlight on a Stick; for larger 350mm-class printers, see Disco Stick XXL.
What it is not
- Not a 24V white Daylight stick; this is the 5V RGB Disco version.
- Not a standalone lighting kit with printed brackets, wiring harness, or controller configuration included.
- Do not daisy-chain power through long runs; plan power injection/current capacity for multiple sticks.
